Jorge Zuñiga Blanco explains what it takes to be a great entrepreneur

Anyone can become an entrepreneur. However, not everyone can become a successful entrepreneur. Jorge Zuñiga Blanco has built several companies from scratch and details the traits those looking to make it on their own as business operators need to possess.

You must work hard and do your best to meet all of the goals you set before you start your project. You will never be disappointed if you achieve good results and your company succeeds. This is the first commandment for every entrepreneur.

We are required to not only do our daily tasks in a monotonous and repetitive manner, but also to be creative, innovative, and create new things at work. If they’re not new, you need to see them differently and think about them and execute them.

Innovation is key. Zuniga explains, “We can’t stay anchored in the original idea. We must innovate every moment.” Innovate in all aspects of the business, including processes, ideas and improvements.

Make each product/service a reality by thinking about how to improve it. It is impossible to afford to let a product or service go without improvement or changes. Even though the old saying “if it works, don’t touch it” is widely known, every business has a life cycle that ends after success. Digital transformation can be applied to your business. Keep up-to-date on the most current website and use the best communication tools.

Be motivated and enthusiastic. Never forget why you set out to fulfill your goals. You can’t forget what made you decide to pursue your dreams. Keep a positive outlook and don’t let your spirit fall. It is okay to have a bad day, but it is important to get up.

Zuniga adds, “You have to like what you do. This principle is key to winning because you are not only working to make a living but also enjoying what you do. Despite the hard times, you must take them as an opportunity and enjoy your work.”

You must be original in both content and form. It is important to be innovative when creating a business. You also need to know how to market it. It is better to have a great design that attracts attention and appeals to the public in order for the business’ approval.

Keep up-to-date with your business area: be informed, alert and aware. This means to keep up-to-date with current trends, crises, and potential opportunities.

It is recommended to view the news at least twice or three times per week in whatever way you prefer. You can watch it offline (TV, radio, or online) or online, like social networks. These are like a barometer for what is happening on a daily basis.

If you’re responsible for coordinating or heading a department, it is essential to be a leader and a communicator. Leaders need to be able to communicate effectively and have the ability to learn from experience. You can learn if you’re not a leader or “you don’t have leader wood” and communicate well. Your leadership skills will improve.

Follow your instincts and not the advice of others. If you are new to entrepreneurship, surround yourself with people who have been there and will give you some tips.

Train yourself, get trained and keep learning. You learn something every day, whether it’s through courses, presentations or seminars, books, or the daily, offline, and online. We can learn from both experience and new information.

Your business should be treated as your child. Passion, affection, and dedication are the best ways to take care of it. It’s not your child. You cannot feel it, but you can. If you do great things, that dedication will lead to pride. It’s like having a child and getting important things.

Don’t hesitate to ask for help, either from your employees or yourself. It’s not good when something is being questioned. It’s good to constantly strive to improve, but it is not a good idea to do so with doubts. Don’t be afraid to try new things and never stop trying. It is okay to learn in business and life.
